Vocalist Dawn Ascanio brings more than three decades of performance experience to her work in vocal jazz, blues, and timeless standards. Having performed throughout Maine in settings ranging from intimate duos to seven-piece bands, she has earned a reputation for professionalism, versatility, and a clear, expressive vocal style.

 

With Dawn Ascanio Jazz, she focuses on classic vocal jazz, torch songs, and selections from the Great American Songbook—the kind of songs associated with artists like Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra, and with the jazz and swing music of the 1930s, ’40s, and ’50s. Backed by seasoned musicians, the group creates a warm, engaging atmosphere that invites audiences to slow down, settle in, and connect with the music and one another.
